We all play with fire. It’s an integral part of growing up, learning and experiencing this in the Top End. The dry season brings the cooler weather, along with more bushfires and more pyromania. Clusters of Pandanus trees surround Leanyer Water Park, where this specific survived pandanus stood.
We are in the last triple year of the La Nina, and the last 2 triple year La Nina events occured in 1998 - 01 where the Territory saw huge flooding, and 1973-1976, right where Cyclone Tracy made its impact. Can we hold out until next year avoiding a major disaster?
I’m enjoying learning about weather patterns to help inform my creative process. This is the second Pandanus work in my new series.
