🌿This is a response to the following rejected YES vote. It's a chance for the NT Government to address something more tangible and take better action. Territorians are pleading with the NTG to finally call Buffel Grass a weed in 2024. This painting is a call for them to do so.

☀️Crafted in the Red Centre, in my home-studio in the heat of summer. This painting explores the aftermath of the continuously burnt areas surrounding the Alice. There's little hope for a lot of native species to regenerate, but a lot of hope for local buffel busters and environmentalists to help take care of their own homes, sacred sites, and chip away for a better Territory.

🧡I love exploring culture shock vessels and subjects like Buffel, because it contextualises your place, your impact on other cultures and gives you a chance to beautify what can be so destructive.
