At the top of Trephina Gorge, you'll see plenty of these PussyFoots blooming throughout the year. The dry year meant their standard mauve colours didn't last long, instead they dried out pretty quickly. However, their creamy tone actually compliments it's surrounding in the painting, and rain is coming this summer. so it works!
I’ve realised that my subjects are predominantly singular or isolated, a good reflection of the vast land and time in the studio.
