2020 Has had me changing the colour palette up a bit, and there’s a lot more warmth. Coinciding with summer and the Australian Bushfires, these works have some elements taken from that. After hanging the NT flag in my studio, all the works had a bit more context to them and I felt it brought my practice together. I wanted to abstract the NT flag even further whilst using the deep ochre colours to resemble the fires. The work had components from two previous works titled ‘Burnt’ and ‘Buffel Burning’.
