Since my buffel busting exhibition, I found myself focusing a lot more on spinifex. It can look so similar to buffel grass in appearance, so I think my subconscious took that on. My fascination was with its soft, cushion like appearance from afar and it’s spiky sharp leaves that you wouldn’t dare run into. I love the sporadic layout of it across the ground, and I wanted to simply come up with an effective composition. I’d want to explore a few more avenues with this style and see where it goes.
