The West MacDonnell Ranges in Central Australia have seen better days the last 10 years. Buffel dominates the reserve and there has been multiple bushfires that have ripped through hundreds of kilometres of land, giving a lot of native species no chance to regenerate.

I wanted to paint a delicate depiction of the aftermath of the bushfires with Buffel embedded into the work to stress it’s physical damage.
